MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
About the Role

At Cogeo, the right conversations shape the right projects. We guide developers through challenging planning projects from initial idea to final delivery. That only works when we are involved early, when risks are clear, decisions are informed, and the right people trust us to lead.

We are looking for a Marketing & Business Development Specialist to strengthen how we build those early relationships. This role will help position Cogeo with developers, land agents and landowners before design begins. You will turn live project insight into useful, commercially relevant content and help generate a steady flow of the right enquiries.

This is not a generic marketing role. It is a commercial role focused on relevance, relationships and a steady pipeline of the right work.

You might describe yourself as commercially minded, proactive and naturally organised. You are confident starting conversations, but thoughtful enough to make them relevant. You follow through without being chased. You like substance, not noise, and you take pride in work that leads somewhere.

  • Are you someone who prefers targeted outreach to broad campaigns?
  • Do you work in a structured way and keep momentum moving?
  • Can you take technical project detail and turn it into clear, useful communication that directly engages the target audience?
  • Are you motivated by ownership, commercial impact and seeing a direct link between your work and the right opportunities coming into the business?

At Cogeo, you will work alongside planners, environmental specialists and technical consultants across live projects. We work with our clients from the start and stay close to the decisions that shape delivery. In this role, you will help make sure the right people see our value early enough to start a conversation.

We value clarity, judgement and consistency. We are looking for someone who can build trust, bring structure to outreach and translate real project experience into messaging that is useful, confident and resonates commercially.

Above all, if you are someone who:

  • Takes ownership and gets on with things
  • Works in a focused and structured way
  • Is commercially aware and motivated by winning the right work
  • Builds relationships through relevance, judgement and follow-through
  • Asks good questions and takes time to understand the substance of a project
  • Can turn technical detail into clear, practical messaging

You will thrive here.

THE ROLE
YOU WILL:
  • Build targeted relationships with renewable developers, land agents, landowner and key introducers
  • Identify and contact relevant people each week with tailored, well-judged outreach
  • Stay close to where opportunities begin, including land, feasibility and early-stage project discussions
  • Work with the team to extract insight from live projects, case studies and project experience
  • Brief copywriters and designers to turn that insight into short, practical and commercially useful materials
  • Support business development through case studies, insight pieces and thoughtful follow-up
  • Help position Cogeo as the planning strategist at project inception
  • Maintain a clear, repeatable process for contacts, conversations, follow-up and pipeline development
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach
  • Confidence in initiating conversations and building relationships over time
  • A structured approach to outreach, follow-up and pipeline management
  • Strong written communication and good judgement in how to present value
  • The ability to understand planning, rural and renewable contexts well enough to communicate them clearly
  • A practical, direct and thoughtful way of working
  • An interest in quality, relevance and outcomes over vanity metrics

Cogeo is built on our core values of Collaboration, Communication and Clarity. If that resonates with you, we would love to meet you.
