The Senedd has announced that from the 24th of August Planning Fees in Wales will be increasing by approximately 20% with upper limits and caps increased by 4%. Fees for pre-application services will remain the same.
This will mean applications for agricultural buildings or renewable energy developments will see fees increase from £385 per 0.1ha to £460 per 0.1ha. For large housing sites, the maximum fee payable has increased from £287,500 to £300,000.
The hope is that the increased fees will be re-invested into the planning services to improve timescales and service delivery.
