Our daily lives, work environments and recreational time are often driven by the land and buildings all around us. Sound planning processes and environmental strategy enhance those experiences with a view for sustainability for future generations.
The advantage of knowledge and viewpoints that will help to shape these developments are critical.
Outlook magazine provides dialogue from within and outside of VG Consulting. Supporting sectors including; Construction, housing, heritage, and renewables we form planning and environmental information based on research and knowledge. Outook assists the flow of how we develop, build and benefit from places and spaces. Each issue we will feature insight, viewpoints, projects and news to interest and inform you.
This Issue - We're talking about renewables
The renewables landscape has changed over the past few years and has seen some challenges although it still plays an integral part to how we work with buildings and spaces. There is a desire to reduce our national and global carbon footprint, from a commercial sense, there is a need for energy sustainability. The housing sector continues to look at better living environments for tenants through better performing homes and ways of fighting fuel poverty; for investors the opportunities are still there.
It's true that with the abundance of focus from the media and general public centered around Feed-In-Tariff reduction reporting and lack of National Government support to the renewables industry, no one would have blamed anyone who thought renewable technologies would fade away.
We're delighted to report the opposite, the industry is alive, has a new focus and drive and has vision. The industry is beginning to find its own feet and although financial support is still critical, mostly to maximise opportunity and see the sector grow, it is clearly evident that renewables has a place within how we will live, work and spend our spare time.
Inside Outlook - The Renewables Issue.
We look at the future of renewables; What next for the industry? How to plan for and make renewable technlogies provide benefit to you and your environment. We also focus on the onsite energy generation boom, with many business organisations taking control of their energy supply, usage and more recently energy storage. Further we take a look at our planning support project case study for BHC Construction based in Carnwath, Scotland. A "Green" business making renewables work for them and their supply chain. With industry and sector news, there's something for everyone.
