PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

This proposal seeks approval from Fife Council for the installation of a ground-mounted (GM) solar photovoltaic (PV) array development at Diageo Scotland Ltd, Banbeath Industrial Estate, Leven, KY8 5HD. The installation is proposed for the sole purpose of generating renewable electricity for consumption within the operational facility. The array will work towards reducing the carbon footprint of processes undertaken onsite. 

The development comprises a series of ground-mounted solar panels with a combined generating capacity of up to 4MW. The PV panels will be arranged in rows, supported off the ground by a series of narrow metal frames, usually composed of aluminium.

Frame Fixtures: Metal frames mounted on screw foundations

APPLICANT 

This application will be made on behalf of the landowner Diageo Scotland Ltd and E.ON Connecting Energies, as the leaseholders of the site. Owned and operated by E.ON with long-term agreements in place for the use of electricity generated onsite, Diageo Scotland Ltd are afforded a degree of future energy security.
